Story is kinda predictable, but it is a great elaborated twist on the legandary Spartan warriors and that infamous battle...
Visually amazing... The greenscreen does wonders, and I loved how they captured it.... That slow mo to fast main fight scene with the blood flying in a kind of fake but glorious way was superb... It was violence at is most glorious that it was poetic...
Oh, and I watched it at Imax, first time I've ever watched anything at Imax... I thought, fuck me the screen is huge! They showed the preview for Spiderman 3 and I couldn't focus! But after a few minutes your eyes do adjust, thank christ, and it was very entertaining....

I saw it last night and I loved it.
If you see the original book, the fact that it's massive and on widescreen aspect sized paper says to me that anything short of visually amazing wouldn't cut it for this movie.
Visually this is probably the most beautiful movie I've ever seen, the colouring and the effects were perfect, I thought it captured the visual aspects of the book perfectly.
I think everyone should see this movie in the cinema, waiting for the DVD will be a bit like passing on a head job to get a hand job later, sure it'll still be good but you could have had so much better.
